1.)  PENGERTIAN REPORT TEXT 

Report text is a type of text that serves to convey information or reports about an event or phenomenon.

Terjemahan: Report text merupakan salah satu jenis teks yang berfungsi untuk menyampaikan informasi atau laporan mengenai suatu peristiwa atau fenomena.

2.)  STRUKTUR REPORT TEXT 

The following is the structure of the report text : 

1. General classification

The first structure is the first part which contains various general information based on the results of observations made by the author. The results of these observations can include animals, natural phenomena, plants and other topics in detail.

2. Description

The second structure of the report text is in paragraph two and has the same function as descriptive text, namely to describe in more depth the details of the author's research results in detail.

Struktur pertama merupakan bagian pertama yang berisi mengenai beragam informasi umum berdasarkan hasil pengamatan yang telah dilakukan oleh penulis, hasil pengamatan tersebut dapat berupa hewan, fenomena alam, tumbuhan dan topik-topik lain secara detail.

2. Description

Struktur kedua dari report text berada di paragraf dua serta memiliki fungsi yang sama dengan descriptive text yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan lebih dalam mengenai detail dari hasil penelitian penulis secara terperinci.

3.)  CONTOH REPORT TEXT 

Seal

A seal is a mammal that can live both in and out of the water. Seals are gray in color and have thin layers of flat flippers and hairy coats for protection from sand and rocks. Seals are six meters long and weigh about 150 pounds. Most seals eat a variety of fish and shellfish. Seals live in the northern hemisphere and they do not migrate.

Pregnant female seals go up on land every spring to have their pups. It takes almost a full year for a pregnant female seal to have a pup. They have one pup each year. Seals travel in small groups or large herds and often rest together on land.

Anjing Laut

Anjing laut adalah mamalia yang dapat hidup di kawasan perairan. Hewan ini berwarna abu-abu dan memiliki lapisan tipis sirip datar serta bulu berbulu untuk perlindungan dari pasir dan batu. Panjang tubuh anjing laut sekitar 6 meter dan berat sekitar 150 pon. Kebanyakan anjing laut memakan berbagai jenis ikan dan kerang. Anjing laut hidup di belahan bumi utara dan tidak bermigrasi.

Spesies anjing laut betina yang hamil, akan pergi ke darat saat musim semi untuk melahirkan anak-anaknya. Anjing laut perlu waktu hampir satu tahun penuh untuk hamil untuk memiliki anak. The Honeybee

The honeybee is a very important insect. It helps to pollinate flowers so that they can produce fruit and seeds. Honeybees make honey from the nectar of flowers. They store honey in hives. Bees collect nectar from flowers using their long, tube-shaped tongues. They carry the nectar back to the hive in their stomachs where it mixes with enzymes. Then, bees place the nectar into the honeycomb cells. They fan the nectar with their wings to make it dry out and become thicker. Finally, they seal the cell with wax. Bees use the honey as food during the winter when there are no flowers and nectar available.

African elephants are found in many countries in Africa, including Kenya, Tanzania, and South Africa. They have large ears that they use to cool themselves down. Elephants also use their trunks to spray water on themselves to keep cool. African elephants are herbivores, which means they only eat plants. They spend most of their day eating grass, leaves, bark, and roots.
